Lena Powell, owner, has over 30 years experience in design. Lena can give you five different places or uses for any item. She lives and breathes design. She has been designing and creating everything from pillows, overalls, window hangings and flowers in eclectic containers long before understanding the terms “balance”, “color scheme”, and “flow”: and certainly before studying it. Lena has a true love for all marvelous things life and design have to offer, but most of all she enjoys the feeling she gets as she watches a client’s expression as they realize their house has just become a home. Ask her where she is headed and she will happily tell you most of the time it’s to her wonderfully amazing store in Franklin, other times you may just find her chatting with a new client as they talk about the beginnings of a new look or design idea.
Those of you who frequent Panama City may be familiar with Lena’s previous store, Tranquility Blu, which was destroyed during hurricane Michael in 2018. While Lena may never be ready to give up coastal living entirely, she decided to set down some roots in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. But Lena was no stranger to the town of Franklin: her parents relocated to Franklin from Panama City back in the ’70s, and she and the rest of the Powell clan have been reuniting at the “ol’ home place” ever since.
If you’re from the PC area and found this site through a link to the old store, Lena invites you to visit her new place the next time you’re in beautiful Franklin, North Carolina. You’ll feel right at home.
